In 2024, Several B'ville Alums Making a Mark at the Next Level

In 2024, Baldwinsville baseball has 13 alumni who are currently playing collegiately for institutions on the east coast, as well as 2 alumni who have had good starts in professional baseball.

 

Here is an update of what these players have done up to this date:

 

NOTE: Statistics are current to Friday, April 19, 2024.

 

2019 Baldwinsville Graduates Still Playing:

 

Jake Marshall (Rutgers) – Pitcher

  • Jake has a 1-2 record with 3 saves coming out of the bullpen. He has a 5.63 ERA with 34 Ks in 32 innings pitched. Jake is building off an impressive campaign in 2023, in which he alternated as a starter and reliever for Rutgers.

 

2020 Baldwinsville Graduates Still Playing:

 

Pat May (Oswego) – Infielder

  • Pat has been injured this year and has no statistics after enrolling at Oswego after a successful career at Monroe Community College.

Bo Nicholson (Ithaca) – Pitcher

  • In his senior year at Ithaca, Bo has no record with a 9.39 ERA in 7.2 innings on the mound. He also has 7 Ks in his 6 outings.

 

2021 Baldwinsville Graduates Still Playing:

 

Chris AuClair (D’Youville) – Pitcher

  • After successful freshman and sophomore years, Chris is 3-4 in his nine outings as a starter for D’Youville in this, his junior season. He has a 3.86 ERA and 41 Ks in 46.2 innings pitched.

Luke Arvantides (USC Sumter) – Pitcher

  • After transferring from Niagara, Luke has taken on a starting role with USC Sumter and has a 4-2 record with a 4.70 ERA with 39 Ks in 46 innings pitched.

 

2022 Baldwinsville Graduates Still Playing:

 

Matt Carner (OCC) – Pitcher/Outfielder

  • Matt is having a breakout year as a two-way player for the Lazers. On the mound, Matt is 4-2 in 6 appearances with a 3.29 ERA and 29Ks in 27.1 innings pitched. At the plate, Matt is tearing up the diamond with a .444 batting average (32-72) with 5 doubles, 6 triples, and a home run, as well as sporting a .500 on-base percentage.

Perry Chetney (Cayuga CC) – Catcher/1B

  • Perry is also having a breakout year as he is hitting .397 (27-68) with 7 doubles, one triple, and 3 home runs for the Spartans.

 

2023 Baldwinsville Graduates Still Playing:

 

Josh Leonard (Kent State Tuscarawas) – Infield/Pitcher

  • Josh is playing both sides of the field for Kent State Tuscarawas, as he is sporting a .256 batting average with 2 doubles and 9 RBIs in 14 games, and, on the mound, he is 0-1 in 4 appearances with a 12.96 ERA in 8.1 innings pitched.

Aiden Milburn (VCU) – Pitcher

  • Aiden is fighting for an opportunity to pitch and has no stats so far this year for Virginia Commonwealth.

Gavin Miller (George Washington) – Pitcher

  • Gavin has pitched in six games so far this year for GW and in 7.2 innings pitched, he has 8 Ks and a 7.04 ERA.

Reid Rachwal (St. Vincent College) – Infield

  • Reid has played in 8 games so far this year and has 16 at-bats with 2 RBIs, 2 HBP, and 1 run scored.

Colin Ray (Alvernia University) – Pitcher

  • Colin recently had an opportunity to pitch an inning and gave up one run and had one K.

Braden Seeber (St. Thomas Aquinas College) – Catcher

  • Braden has had one at-bat in one game so far this season.

Graduates Playing Professionally:

 

Scott Blewett (Class of 2014)

  • After being drafted in 2014 by the Kansas City Royals in the 2nd round, Scott has played at multiple levels of the minor leagues in the Royals’ and Braves’ organizations, pitched for the Royals in 5 games in 2020 and 2021, and spent some of 2023 in Tawain, pitching for the CPBL’s Uni-President team. In 2024, Scott signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins and is currently playing for their AAA team, the St. Paul Saints. Scott has made 8 appearances as a relief pitcher for St. Paul this year and has given up no earned runs in 8.1 innings with 14 Ks.

Jason Savacool (Class of 2020)

  • After a successful three years at the University of Maryland, Jason was drafted in the 2023 draft in the 6th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. Jason is a starting pitcher for their Low-A affiliate, the Palm Beach Cardinals, and has a 1-0 record in two starts with a 1.00 ERA with 9 Ks in 9 innings pitched.
