After a strikeout during which Leonard moved to third on a stolen base and a wild pitch, Aiden Milburn singled to left field to score Leonard to tie the game, 1-1. Braden Seeber then followed with a double to left, which scored Milburn, as the Bees took a lead they would never relinquish.
In the next inning, the Bees took a commanding lead. Luca Beals started the inning with a double to left field. Evan Kinville was hit by a pitch and Leonard reached on an error by the pitcher on a sacrifice bunt attempt, which loaded the bases. With Jacob Penafeather up, Beals scored on a wild pitch and Kinville then scored on a sacrifice fly to left by Penafeather. Milburn then scored Leonard with a single to left, and after moving over to second and third on stolen bases, Milburn scored on another wild pitch to make the score 6-1.
In the top of the seventh, pinch hitters Caleb Way and Nico Wellman had singles and Leonard drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Seeber drove in two more runs with a single down the third base line. The score was 9-1.
