Bees Drop Game 5-0 at F-M
4/10/2017by C. Savacool

There was little that went right for the Bees baseball team on Monday afternoon, as it dropped a 5-0 game against Fayetteville-Manlius, in Manlius.

Things started poorly in the first as a fly ball was misplayed in the outfield and F-M started with a runner on second.  After a single put runners on first and second, starting pitcher Cameron Morrissey struck out the next batter.  However, the four-hitter for F-M doubled into the left-center gap and two runs scored.  F-M was able to tack on another run in the inning.

F-M continued to apply pressure as the first two batters in the bottom of the fourth inning reached on singles and scored on a two-out single by the leadoff hitter.

The Bees had few answers, however, as the offense produced only two hits: an infield single by Cam Williams and a line-drive double by Alex Robinson.

Morrissey pitched five complete innings, giving up four earned runs (five total) on nine hits.  Ryan Carson pitched an inning in relief and got the Bees out of a 2-runner, no-out jam in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Bees next play F-M on Tuesday at the Baker varsity field, at 4:30 p.m., before heading out on Thursday for Florida.
