By any measure, Wednesday night's offensive display was impressive:  21 runs, 23 hits, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 18 RBIs.  Throw in seven errors by Oswego's defense and effective pitching and the result was a 21-0 rout by the Bees over Oswego at Oswego State's Laker Field.

In the game, 15 different Baldwinsville players had hits.  Fourteen different players had RBIs.  And two players who didn't have at-bats in the season now have batting averages of 1.000 with an RBI for good measure.

The game started with Zach Bush driving a double to left center.  David Cerqua walked.  Then, with two outs, Alex Robinson tripled to the right center gap, bringing home Bush and Cerqua.  Cam Williams then reached on an error and Robinson scored.  Nellis also reached base on an error and Williams scored.  The Bees led 4-0.

The Bees didn't wait long to pad its lead.  In the top of the second, Nate Johns walked and stole second.  Bush walked and stole second.  Cerqua walked again, setting up bases loaded with no outs.  Anthony May crushed a ball to the wall in left, doubling and bringing in two runs.  Billy Clifford followed that with another doubled lined over the left fielder's head, which brought in two more runs.  Robinson was hit by a pitch.  With one out, Carson Hayes drove another double to the wall in left, sending the left fielder scrambling once again like he was in the movie Groundhog Day; two more runs scored.  Ryan Carson singled home the final run of the inning, and Baldwinsville held a 11-0 advantage.

Meanwhile, Cameron Morrissey pitched beautifully on the mound through five inning, yielding only four hits and no runs, and striking out nine batters.  Morrissey got the win for the Bees.

In the fifth inning, Cam Williams lined a hard single to right field and advanced to third when the ball skipped under the right fielder's glove.  Keenan Nellis followed with a single, driving in Williams.

In the top of the sixth, the Bees added one more run as Elijah Borja singled and Jarrod Williams doubled to right center to bring home Borja.  The lead was now 13-0.

Nick Borek took over on the bump for Baldwinsville in the sixth inning and struck out two of the four batters he faced, while giving up no runs.

The Bees weren't done.  No matter who Oswego brought in to relieve their pitchers, Bees batters responded with more hits and more runs.

Nellis reached on an error to start the final inning and reached third.  Tommy McKee grounded to second base, bringing home Nelliis to start the scoring.  With no-one on, the Bees started a string of eight batters who reached safely before Oswego recorded another out.

Nate Johns singled, Bush laced another double, and Frank Levanti singled to bring in a run.  Borja then singled to bring in another run, as head coach Dave Penafeather stopped sending runners home and essentially went base to base.

Jarrod Williams was hit by a pitch, which brought up pinch hitter, Cody Kaestle.  Kaestle, one of the Bees' pitchers, was a good hitter "back in the day" with JVs, but he rarely had opportunities to hit as a pitcher on varsity.  Kaestle proved his mettle by lining a hard single over the shortstop to bring home another run.

Nate Valentine, another "pitcher-only" who was clamoring for a hitting opportunity, stepped to the plate and promptly lined a single over the first baseman, scoring another runner.  Nellis, Johns, and Bush each drove in a run with a single to increase the lead to 21-0 by the middle of the seventh inning.

Nellis pitched the final frame of the game, striking out the side.

On the day, Bush finished with four hits, Johns finished with three, and Borja, Nellis, and Carson finished with two hits each.  May, Clifford, Hayes, and Nellis drove in two runs each.

The Bees play again on Friday, in its final conference game against F-M, and then finish the regular season with a non-conference tilt against Corning-Painted Post on Satuday, which will also be the Bees' Senior Day and Alumni Day.
