In six of the seven innings, the Bees baseball team put runners on base. In five of those innings, runners were in scoring position (2nd base or better). Yet, the Bees couldn't score.
Against a good pitcher, the Bees had six hits but couldn't take advantage.
Cody Kaestle pitched a good game except for one inning, the third, when CNS exploded for four runs on five hits and a sacrifice fly. Although there were no errors in the inning or in the game, some better plays on balls that were scored as hits could have limited the damage.
Kaestle finished with three strikeouts in five innings. Cameron Morrissey pitched a 1-2-3 sixth inning.
Offensively, Billy Clifford and David Cerqua had two hits each. Anthony May and Cam Williams had the other hits.
The Bees take on CNS in the third game of the series on Thursday.
