Bees End Florida Stand with Win in Official Game
4/7/2015by C. Savacool

In its second official game of the season, the Bees varsity baseball team prevailed over Milwaukee Hamilton (WI), 5-2, on Tuesday night.

Dave Marsell drove in the first run of the night on a single in the first inning and Charlie McAllister extended the lead to two with a solo homerun to left field to begin the second inning.

In the top of the fourth, an error by the Bees allowed two runs to score, despite no hits by the Milwaukee team.

However, the resilient Bees scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good at 5-2.  A single by Andrew Chajkowski and a walk by McAllister preceded an RBI single by Niko Mirizio and an RBI-sacrifice fly by Sam Mahar.

That was all that reliever Cody Kaestle needed to secure the win.  Kaestle finished with six strikeouts and no walks.  Starter Billy Clifford pitched three-and-a-third innings and struck out four.

The Bees return to Baldwinsville on Wednesday and prepare for its season league opener against Auburn on Monday, April 13th.
